Triangle Fraternity is a national men’s social fraternity that is unique among the members of the North American Interfraternity Conference in that it specializes in students from distinct fields of study. Specifically these are engineering, architecture and the hard sciences, defined as chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science. Thus we also resemble a professional fraternity. We have restarted our chapter at Nebraska after a 6 year hiatus. Several of the fraternities at UNL have successfully done the same in their long history. We recruited a few outstanding men in applicable majors in the Spring semester of 2016 and recruited several more in the 2016-2017 school year. In the Summer of 2017 Triangle offered a scholarship program to incoming freshmen in STEM majors and had 47 high quality applicants. For example, more than half of the applicants had 3.97 or above GPA in high school. We awarded 15 scholarships. Several of these accomplished men decided to join Triangle and we are continuing to recruit. We have every reason to expect that this restart will be successful. In the last 10 years Triangle has had successful restarts at Michigan, Michigan Tech, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Virginia Tech and Iowa State as well as starting on 13 campuses that we were never at before. We invite you to explore this website to learn about Triangle and hope you will contact us if interested in investigating this unique organization.
